Prouesse

A true champion of contemporary music, violist Rivka Golani has commissioned an astounding number of works from Canadian composers. Her first Centrediscs recording, Viola Noveau, won her the Grand Prix du Disque Canada in 1985. In this, her second recording for the label, Golani joins forces with members of the percussion ensemble Nexus as well as performs solo, and presents the listener with an exciting diverse selection of music from five Canadian composers.

“Rivka Golani’s new CD recording of works by Canadian composers will surely become an indispensable part of any serious contemporary music collection.”
– Alexander Rapoport, SoundNotes

“What emerges is an hour of spectacular performance.”
– James H. North, Fanfare

“This CD, packed with more than an hour of inventive and attractive new Canadian music, tells an eloquent story of success.”
– Pauline Durichen, Kitchener-Waterloo Record
