This piece was written for and dedicated to violinist Debra Fast to premiere at the GardaMusikWeek festival in Italy on August 15th of 2022. This concert took place at dawn at Chiesa di San Giacomo on the shore of Lake Garda. Since this piece was to be premiered in the early morning the violin begins with a sleepy musical line that gradual becomes more awake and engaged. The concert on the 15th was scheduled to begin after the fishermen had come back to shore, at sunrise. In this piece there is a section dedicated to the return of the fishermen that is happy and boisterous in character after a successful morning on the lake. The piece ends with a bit of hesitation in regard to the start of a new day but eventually confidence builds, and with a new day brings a new beginning and the day is full of potential.
