The Triptych was originally commissioned by Concordia Publishing House in 1983, but not published due to the high royalties demanded by the Oxford Press for the use of Vaughan-Williams hymn tunes. The work was then dedicated to my former organ colleague at the University of the Free State, South Africa, Leonore Kloppers. The CBC recorded the work and broadcast it in June 1986. An initial digital transcription of the manuscript was made by Harold Jansen of Calgary in Landscape Format. A new, revised version in Portrait Format was done by Rick van der Woude in Calgary 2022.
