I. Mercury
II. Diana
III. Pluto
IV. Sisyphus
V. Apollo
Although the cycle is about the gods of Mt. Olympus, they seem to have human foibles. So Mercury is like the person who tries to avoid his fears by filling every waking moment with activity so he doesn’t have time to think. Diana tempts with her beauty but woe to any man who is unfortunate enough to admire her. Pluto, as God of the Dead, weaves a web of anxiety around those near to him. Sisyphus, forever trying to achieve his goal, is doomed to eternal failure. But finally Apollo, the God of many things positive: the sun, music, poetry, truth, and prophecy, brings a ray of hope to the cycle.
