Dark Waters is an imaginary title. By using the unique timbre of a woodwind quintet and strings; this piece paints a mental picture of the mysterious “altered state” of nature, created by the vicious cycle or transformation of water. There is a persistent thematic material: portrayed by the quiet rumbling woodwinds gestures against slow moving sustained strings lines, this musical theme is subdued at time, but becomes volatile at certain point, the whole ensemble will become one unifying force of destruction.
