text by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer and the composer
May 18th 2019, Conrad Grebel Chapel, Waterloo Clarisse Tonigussi (vocalist) and Narmina Efendiyeva (Piano)
A Spanish poem by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer is set to music in the first verse. The second verse, written by Edith Covach, mirrors the lyrics of the first verse by Becquer and wraps up the poetry circle. The indulging piano accompaniment supports the fine vocal lines that depict the reason for the nurturing of the White Rose and the Honeysuckle.
