Premiere
December 19, 2010 Cochrane Street United Church St. John's The Quintessential Vocal Ensemble Conductor: Susan Quinn
Susan Quinn's husband works away from his home in Newfoundland. He wrote this reflective poem about missing his home. I then set the poem to music trying to capture the two ways in which a seagull flies. Tthe first, soaring on a gentle breeze, hanging like a kite and the second, flitting around trying to stay aloft in a strong gale.
