Snowy Breasted Pearl is one of a set of three pieces I wrote for flute and voice in 2008. These three pieces are comprised of two Irish folk songs (Snowy Breasted Pearl and Down By the Salley Gardens) and a setting of a Christmas Carol (Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming)The flute parts in these arrangements are approximately Grade 8 in level of difficulty and contain a fantasia, florid and virtuosic quality which comments on the words. The vocal score is fairly straightforwward: comprised mostly of the expected melody of the piece.
