Millennial Suite: Hymns Through the Ages, was commissioned by Keith Rasmussen, Music Director of Bridge Street United Church, Belleville, Ontario for the arrival of year 2000. It is scored for choir and organ with some solo passages for a tenor and soprano voice. The work’s six movements make imaginative use of popular hymns that are presented in chronological order. The movements are titled, “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel,” “Ein feste Burg ist unser Gott,” “Now Thank We All Our God,” “Fuguing Tunes,” “Let Us Break Bread Together,” and “Now We Return.”
