This nine-minute piece is written in three continuous sections. In the first two, the soprano and mezzo-soprano are the central focus of the music, with the strings and percussion in a supporting role. During these two sections, the strings play only harmonics, no regular notes. In the third section, the strings have a wide-ranging heterophonic melody, while the percussion becomes more ritualistic. This piece was written in memory of my father, Len Morlock.
