FANTASIA for Piano is an about 10-minute composition in free style, giving the interpreter the liberty of improvisation. This composition is included in the piano program of the Ecole de musique Vincent-d'Indy in Montreal, Edition 1995. The score is preceded by a detailed analysis based on the connection between the composition's structure and the instrumental requirements. The pianist is invited to develop the many possibilities of his/her performance. Ottawa-based pianist Dr. Elaine Keillor gave the first public performance of Fantasia at Pollack Hall, McGill University, on June 3, 1995, in Montreal. Published by LUCIAN BADIAN? EDITIONS, Fantasia is available for research in the collections of music libraries of numerous cultural centres in Canada, U.S.A. and Europe.
FANTASIA pour piano est une composition d'environ dix minutes en style libre, donnant l'interprète la liberté d'improvisation. Cette composition est incluse dans le programme de piano de l'École de musique Vincent-d'Indy à Montréal, édition 1995. La partition est précédée d'une analyse détaillée fondée sur le lien entre la structure de la composition et les exigences instrumentales. Le pianiste est invité à développer les nombreuses possibilités de son interprétation.
