Ave Maria
is based on the words of Elizabeth to Mary as found in the 16th century adaptation of the first chapter of St. Luke, verse 42. Set for a cappella mezzo-soprano and SATB chorus and sung in the original Latin, a translation of the text is as follows:
“Hail Mary / full of grace / the Lord is with you, / blessed are you among women, / and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. / Holy Mary, mother of God, / pray for us sinners, / now and at the hour of our death, / Amen.”

de Raminsh est basée sur les paroles de Élisabeth à Marie tel que trouvées dans une adaptation du XVIe siècle du verset 42 de premier chapitre de saint Luc. Il s’agit d’une mise en musique de ces textes en latin pour mezzo-soprano solo et chœur mixte SATB a capella chantée dans sa langue originale dont voici la traduction : « Je vous salue Marie / Pleine de grâce, / Le Seigneur est avec vous, / Vous êtes bénie d’entre toutes les femmes / Et Jésus, le fruit de vos entrailles, est béni. / Sainte Marie, mère de Dieu, / Priez pour nous, pauvres pécheurs, / Maintenant et à l’heure de notre mort, / Amen. »
