The Hymn Concertato was written for the 1987 Church Music Conference of theChristian Reformed Church, Grand Rapids, Michigan - where it was premièred.Regarding performance, the following should be noted:- Congregational participation in verse 1 and 4 only.- SATB four-part participation in verse 1.- The tempo of the hymn varies according to verse and is to be observed.- Organ registrations serve only as a general guideline, but the pitch basis (16' or 8')should be observed. My sincere thanks to my South African colleague, Dr. Gerrit Jordaan, for transcribing the manuscript into digital format, 2018.
