For Your Tomorrow represents a spiritual journey of a more personal nature than I have written before. Contrary to most of my music, which has often been externally inspired by nature, mountains, literature, poetry, extraordinary people, and travel, this trio represents an inner world - a gradual metamorphosis within me - a slow emerging from darkness and grief into light and life. A challenging journey I have been forced to take through the recent death of my husband, and the dramatic changes in my life. The piece begins introspectively in a quiet, tentative motif which appears throughout the work, which moves through dramatically fluctuating moods, and gradually emerging into a sense of calmness and peace. The actual act of "writing" the work has been a healing journey for me.
